How to choose coffee for your daily cup

A simple guide to choosing roast level, grind, and brew method for the coffee you actually drink every day.

Start with how you brew. Espresso and moka pot usually work well with medium to dark roasts, while pour-over gives more room for floral and fruit notes. If you drink with milk, look for cocoa, nutty, or caramel notes. If you drink black, start with a balanced roast and adjust from there.
